MariJo Applications Inc. ("Kingdom of Sounds and Snakes & Ladders") takes the privacy of its users—comprising students, teachers, and parents—very seriously. MariJo Applications is committed to protecting the privacy of its users while offering an enriching and personalized experience through its educational technology product (the "Product").
MariJo Applications has pledged its support for responsible data collection and usage practices through the 2023 Student Privacy Pledge, which is designed to safeguard the privacy of student data. This pledge includes the following commitments:

The term "School Environment" refers, in this Policy, to the classroom, teachers, school administration, school district, or school service center.
Since the Product is designed for classroom use, much of the collected data is intended to be communicated within the School Environment; therefore, activities, data, or communications related to the Product or the Classroom may be visible to anyone present in the classroom. Furthermore, certain information will be accessible to other teachers and school or district administrators or employees (see the "Access to MariJo Applications User Data" section below). Sharing of this information is subject to this Policy and the privacy policies of the respective educational institutions. If users have questions about the sharing of this data under those policies, MariJo Applications encourages them to contact the relevant educational institution.
MariJo Applications has implemented security measures to ensure that such data is not shared outside of the School Environment unless in compliance with this Policy.
The type of user determines the specific information collected (e.g., teacher, school district employee, service center employee, or student). A list of personal data collected for each type of user of the Product can be found here. This list outlines the type of information collected, how the data is collected and used within the School Environment, whether other users can view the information, and whether the data is shared outside of the School Environment.

Cookies are small data files commonly stored on your device when you visit websites and use online services. They generally help websites function or enhance their operation, provide information, and assist with customization. Other technologies similar to cookies (collectively referred to as "local storage technologies") may also store small amounts of data on your device.

MariJo Applications only collects and uses data necessary to fulfill its obligations and to provide and improve its services. Specifically, the data is collected for the following purposes:
MariJo Applications does not engage in advertising or marketing directed at students or their parents. No personal student information will be used for marketing purposes.
MariJo Applications does not share personal data outside of the School Environment, except for the purposes established in this document, without first obtaining the written consent of the individual concerned.
Parents accessing the Product will only have access to personal information (username and password) related to their child.
The only information used by MariJo Applications includes: the teacher's first and last name, the teacher's email address, the name of the school, and the student’s first and last name. This information is not shared with others. MariJo Applications commits to not transferring this information to any other party.
All user access to the Product or interactions within the Product occur within the School Environment and involve trusted users such as school district or school administrators, school or service center employees, teachers (including teaching assistants, behavior specialists, or other school staff), students, and parents.
Teachers (including the teachers themselves, assistants, substitutes, or other school employees working with students in the classroom) have access to student data in their classrooms. School district or service center administrators can access teacher and student data to monitor activities within the app.
At a parent’s request, they can access data related to their child and their child’s teacher.

Student records belong to the school, district, service center, or all three, and they are controlled by them as appropriate. Students can access the game by logging into their student account. Parents of students under 18 years old can access their child’s information by contacting the teacher or writing to MariJo Applications at education@kingdomofsounds.com. If any incorrect information needs to be corrected, it must first be brought to the attention of the teacher or school administration. If the teacher or school is unable to make the correction, parents should notify MariJo Applications by writing to education@kingdomofsounds.com, and we will work with the teacher or school to correct the erroneous information.
Third parties do not have access to personal information, student records, or any other student records, except as provided in this Policy or with the written consent of the student's parent.
If MariJo Applications discovers that a student record has been disclosed without authorization, it must notify the school, teacher, parent, and student by email within three days of discovering
